Innistrad League begins Sunday, December 4th, 2011 at 3pm.
What is it?Innistrad League #2 will consist of about ten mini Innistrad Block Constructed Tournaments. Players will compete in mini-Swiss tournaments with Innistrad Block Constructed decks.
When is it?The kick off event will occur on both Sunday, December 4th at 3pm and Tuesday, December 6th at 6:30 pm. Innistrad League play will continue
every Sunday and Tuesday thereafter until Dark Ascension releases at the start of February.
What is the format/ How is it played?Innistrad Block Cosntructed. Players will enter a 3 round Swiss tournament if there are at least 6 block players present or more on each League day. Each League day costs $2 per player and one booster pack per two players goes into the daily pot. Prizes are paid out daily as well as at the end of the League in the Finals tournament. Points are also generated for match wins (2) or match played (1) if there are less than 6 players on a given day. Otherwise, points are tallied based on the number of points you accrue by playing in the tournament. For example, a winner of all three rounds of a 3 round tournament will earn a total of 9 points for that League day (3 points for a win or bye at three rounds = 9 points). Multiple matches with the same opponent do not earn extra League points.
What do I get for being the League winner? We'll host another Finals tournament on January 29th, Sunday, at 3 pm. The top 8 players in the Innistrad League that are present at that time will be granted free entry to a 3 round swiss sanctioned constructed competitive tournament using your Innistrad League deck. The top 4 players of this tournament will win the League Prize (more details to come). Also, the top 4 players with the most accumulated Innistrad League points will also receive the League Prize.
What happens if I enroll late? You still can catch up to the current League week by playing in as many League days as possible.
How can I find an opponent to play in Innistrad League? The tournament organizer will organize the tournament if there are at least 6 players. Otherwise, players play amongst themselves. JCS employees record ALL points on the League poster.
How does the Innistrad League pertain to Jax Card Singles Arena? All Innistrad League players who accumulate 20 Innistrad League points before February 1st, 2012 will ALSO receive 5 Arena Points. 40 points brings you 10 total Arena points and so forth.
